Former county mayor Ou Mingfeng of Yiliang County in Kunming has been expelled from the Communist Party and dismissed from public office.

After investigation, it was found that as a member and leading cadre of the party, Ou Mingfeng had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original intentions and mission, violated the law, colluded with others to fabricate evidence, instigated others to falsely surrender, resisted organizational investigation; he ignored the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulations, received gifts and money that could affect the fair execution of public duties, gave gifts to persons engaged in public duties, sought special treatment in transportation and daily life, indulged in extravagance and sought enjoyment; he violated regulations on reporting personal matters, concealed personal investment information; he used his authority to seek benefits for others in work transfers, placements, etc.; he used the convenience of his position and the convenience conditions formed by his authority to seek benefits for others in project contracting and other aspects, and illegally accepted huge amounts of money and goods.
