On November 21st, the National Energy Administration released data on national electricity consumption for October. In October, the total electricity consumption was 857.2 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%. By sector, electricity consumption in the primary sector was 12 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%; electricity consumption in the secondary sector was 568.8 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, with industrial electricity consumption increasing by 6.4%; electricity consumption in the tertiary sector was 160.9 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 17.1%, with rapid growth in the electricity consumption of charging and swapping services, as well as information transmission, software, and information technology services; residential electricity consumption in urban and rural areas was 115.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%. From January to October, the total electricity consumption was 862.46 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%, with industrial electricity generation from enterprises above a designated scale reaching 806.25 billion kilowatt-hours. By sector, electricity consumption in the primary sector was 126.2 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%; electricity consumption in the secondary sector was 54.781 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%, with industrial electricity consumption increasing by 3.9%; electricity consumption in the tertiary sector was 16.671 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%, with rapid growth in the electricity consumption of charging and swapping services, as well as information transmission, software, and information technology services; residential electricity consumption was 13.532 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%.
