Today, the results of the 2025 election for academicians of the two academies were officially announced, with a total of 144 people elected. Among them, there were 73 academicians elected for the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 71 academicians elected for the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Among the newly elected academicians, there were a total of 13 female scientists. In addition, in 2025, there were 27 newly elected foreign academicians for the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 24 newly elected foreign academicians for the Chinese Academy of Engineering. After this election, the total number of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is 908, with a total of 173 foreign academicians; the total number of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering is 1002, with a total of 148 foreign academicians.
