COP30 China delegation: "China corner" region not affected by wildfires
A fire broke out on the 20th at the main venue of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Belm, Brazil. The Chinese delegation stated that, as of the evacuation of personnel, the "China Pavilion" area was not affected by the fire. At around 2 p.m. local time on the 20th, a fire broke out in the "Blue Zone" of the COP30 venue. It was noted by reporters that some media falsely reported that the fire originated in the "China Pavilion" area. However, the Chinese delegation in attendance told reporters that the fire did not start in the "China Pavilion." The "Blue Zone" includes exhibition booths for all parties to the conference, as well as delegation and media office areas, with the "China Pavilion" located in the central area of the "Blue Zone." After the fire broke out, personnel at the scene were evacuated according to the instructions of security personnel. According to information from the relevant authorities, the fire was brought under control in approximately half an hour.
