Tonga holds parliamentary elections.
On the 20th, Tonga, a South Pacific island nation, held parliamentary elections, electing 17 commoner members and 9 noble members. According to the preliminary vote count results announced by the Tonga Electoral Commission that evening, 10 current commoner members were re-elected. Among them, current Prime Minister Pohiva Tu'i'onetoa was successfully re-elected in his constituency with 1568 votes, approximately 72.93% of the vote, the highest among all commoner candidates. Among the 9 noble members elected, two are new faces, while the rest were re-elected.
