Silicon Summit launched a universal programmable quantum computer based on silicon photonics integrated chips.
On November 20, at the 2025 Quantum Technology and Industry Conference, the integrated photon quantum chip company - Hefei Silicon Quantum Chip Technology Co., Ltd. released for the first time a universal programmable quantum computer based on silicon photonic integrated chip. This computer uses photons as quantum bit carriers, with integrated photonics chips as its core, achieving independent research and development of core components, and can be accessed through a cloud platform, significantly reducing system operation and maintenance complexity and cost, providing a feasible technical path for quantum computing to move from the laboratory to industrial applications. The device currently offers 4 physical quantum bits of resources and can be used for experimental validation in small and medium-sized quantum computing scenarios. Its average fidelity for single qubit and two qubit quantum states reaches 99.7% and 99.4% respectively, providing a solid foundation for computational results. Additionally, it supports visual programming and cloud platform interface access, allowing users to customize algorithms and deploy services according to their needs, even non-quantum professional teams can quickly complete computational tasks. In the future, it is expected to be widely used in various fields such as strategic optimization, artificial intelligence, simulation analysis, and information security.
