The Xilinhot High Altitude Station has officially received the GRUAN site certificate, becoming the first global high-altitude benchmark climate observation station in China.

According to the China Meteorological Administration, recently, Xilinhot upper-air station in China, as one of the first batch of candidate stations for the global upper-air benchmark climate observation, received a certification certificate at the 16th Implementation Coordination Meeting of the Global Climate Observation System Upper-Air Benchmark Observation Network held in Spain. This marks the official entry of the Xilinhot upper-air station into the GRUAN sequence, making it the first in China, the third in Asia, and the 15th globally as a global upper-air benchmark climate observation station.
