Social media ban is imminent, Meta begins notifying Australian teenage accounts that will be closed.

On November 19, it was reported that Meta company stated that in order to comply with the upcoming social media usage restrictions for teenagers in Australia, it will block users under the age of 16 from accessing Instagram, Facebook, and Threads by December 10. Meta stated that the company has started notifying users identified as ages 13 to 15 through in-app messages, emails, and texts that their accounts will be closed. In addition, starting on December 4, Meta will begin deactivating these accounts and prohibiting new users under the age of 16 from registering.
