Construction of the main project of Unit 3 of the San'ao nuclear power plant in Zhejiang has officially started.

On November 19, the No. 3 unit of the San'ao nuclear power project of China General Nuclear Power Group in Zhejiang started the first concrete pouring of the nuclear island, marking the official start of the main body engineering of the unit. San'ao Nuclear Power Project is the first nuclear power project in the Yangtze River Delta region to adopt the Hualong One technology route, and also the first nuclear power project in the country with private capital participation, located in San'ao Village, Xiaguan Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The No. 3 unit that started construction this time was approved by the national authorities on August 19, 2024, with an expected annual power generation of 1 million kilowatt-hours after completion, which can meet the annual production and living electricity demand of about 1 million people. Currently, the pre-fueling nuclear safety inspection of Unit 1 of San'ao Nuclear Power has been completed, officially entering the fuel loading preparation stage, while Unit 2 is currently in the hot test preparation stage, carrying out system commissioning tests and equipment installation work.
