On the 14th, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Japan solemnly reminded Chinese citizens to avoid traveling to Japan in the near future. According to the Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post on the 17th, since the 15th, Chinese airlines have recorded approximately 491,000 tickets to Japan being cancelled, accounting for about 32% of the total reservations to Japan. Independent aviation analyst Li Hanming's analysis data shows that the proportion of affected flights surged to 82.14% on the 16th and 75.6% on the 17th. The statistics cover all airlines in mainland China. Li Hanming stated that the number of ticket cancellations is 27 times the number of new bookings, with safety concerns currently being passengers' main consideration.
