It was learned from the National Development and Reform Commission that five power mutual assistance projects including Chongqing-Guizhou, Hunan-Guangdong, and Hunan-Guizhou have recently been officially approved. China's cross-regional power mutual assistance capacity will be further enhanced. It is reported that the total investment of these 5 projects reaches 24.4 billion yuan, with 18.4 billion yuan invested by the State Grid Corporation and 6 billion yuan invested by the Southern Power Grid. The projects will build 5 flexible direct current stations with a capacity of 3 million kilowatts each, with a total line length of 1227 kilometers. The projects are planned to be put into operation before the peak summer period in 2027. After their operation, they can increase the provincial two-way power transmission capacity by 15 million kilowatts, enhance emergency accident support and dispatch operation flexibility, reduce operation risks, and effectively guarantee the electricity demand for the economy, society, and people's livelihood.
