Survey: The number of millionaires in Hong Kong has increased to nearly 400,000, with a median net worth of over 20 million.

According to a report on the website of Hong Kong Radio on November 18th, a survey by Citibank Hong Kong shows that there are approximately 395,000 "millionaires" in Hong Kong this year, with a net worth of 10 million HKD and at least 1 million HKD in liquid assets, an increase of about 5,000 people from last year, accounting for about 7% of the total population aged 21-79 in Hong Kong. The survey interviewed 2600 Hong Kong residents, with an average age of 55 among millionaires, a median net worth of 20.5 million HKD, and a median liquid asset of 10 million HKD. These millionaires on average accumulated their first million at the age of 34, mainly investing in stocks and funds at that time; and on average buying their first property at the age of 33.
