The largest yeast protein dedicated production line in the country has been put into operation.

Recently, the first phase of the Baiyang Angel Biological Industrial Park in the Yichang High-tech Zone, with a total investment of 1.75 billion yuan, has been completed, and the demonstration project of industrialized production of tens of thousands of tons of yeast protein has officially started production. "This is currently the most advanced and largest specialized production line for yeast protein in the country," said Liu Zhi, deputy director of the yeast protein production department of the Yichang High-tech Zone company of Angel Yeast. After the production line started production, it quickly reached full capacity, with a monthly output of around 900 tons. Compared to traditional animal and plant proteins, yeast protein not only has high production efficiency but is also environmentally friendly, making it a high-quality source of supplementary protein. By the end of 2023, the yeast protein developed by Angel will have successfully been included in the National Health Commission's new food raw materials catalog, becoming the first approved protein material in the field of microbiology in China, breaking the limitations of traditional protein sources and being more beneficial for human body absorption.
