On the 17th, local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated at a joint press conference with French President Macron in Paris that Ukraine will be able to acquire 8 sets of SAMP-T air defense systems, 100 Rafale fighter jets, 6 launchers, and radars from France. Zelensky said that the signed agreement aims to significantly enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities. He pointed out that these equipment are of great importance to Ukraine, and the strategic agreement reached by both parties will be implemented from 2026 for a period of 10 years. However, he mentioned that he cannot disclose the specific delivery date for the SAMP-T air defense systems. Ukrainian and French leaders also met with representatives from defense companies of both countries that day to discuss specific technical cooperation matters. Zelensky stated that both sides will work together to enhance industrial and technological potential, which will not only involve the defense sector, but also create job opportunities and promote business development. In addition, Ukraine also signed an agreement to purchase 55 new electric locomotives from France, signed by Ukrainian Railways and French company Alstom.
