On November 17th, it was learned from China Huaneng Group that the Qiongjie Wind Power Project in Shannan, Tibet has officially connected to the grid for power generation. The highest altitude of the project's wind turbine point is 5370 meters, making it the highest-altitude wind power field in operation in China. The Qiongjie Wind Power Project has a total installed capacity of 60 megawatts, with a total of 12 wind turbines installed, each with the largest installed capacity in Tibet. The wind power field is located in the high-quality wind energy resource area in the southern Himalayas in Tibet, with an average annual wind speed of over 8.0 meters per second in the area. It also has the resource characteristics of "strong winter winds and nighttime power generation," which naturally complement the power grid's electricity load.
