The Ministry of Commerce and 6 other departments have issued a notice on the "East-West Silk Solid" initiative in the silk industry, pointing out the need to enhance dyeing and printing capabilities. They will adapt to local conditions to undertake the transfer of dyeing and printing industries from eastern regions, vigorously develop raw silk and silk reeling production, accelerate the construction of major projects to fill gaps in the silk dyeing and printing key technologies. The focus will be on promoting technological equipment upgrades in dyeing and printing enterprises, accelerating the application of digital printing and other technologies, and improving the industry's level of green production. They will support the creation of national small and medium enterprise service demonstration platforms in major silk producing areas, and encourage the cultivation of distinctive industry clusters for small and medium enterprises in the silk industry in Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, and other regions.
