The Ministry of Commerce and 7 other departments have issued a notice on carrying out the "East Silk, West Silk" work in the silk industry, emphasizing the strengthening of research and development capabilities. They will leverage the technological research and development advantages of the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, establish a national silk technology center, promote the research and development of high-end silk fabrics, intelligent equipment, and other high-tech products. They will also utilize the roles of national research centers and key laboratories, integrate industry science and technology resources, establish several silk industry innovation service platforms, and cultivate a number of companies with independent intellectual property rights.
