Key mechanism of the origin of cosmic rays revealed by the large scientific instrument "Lasso"

Today, the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the latest research results of the large scientific facility, the High Altitude Cosmic Ray Observatory. Researchers discovered that there are five micro quasar bodies in the Milky Way composed of black holes and stars accreted by them, which can accelerate particles in the universe to extremely high energies. This finding solves a mystery that has puzzled the scientific community for nearly 70 years - where does the knee-shaped bend in the energy spectrum of cosmic ray protons come from. This achievement not only reveals the key mechanism of cosmic ray origin, but also opens up new ways to understand the extreme physical processes of black hole systems.
