The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu, stated that Google (GOOG.O) plans to invest 15 billion US dollars in the initial phase of a data center project in the state, with further investments expected after five years. Naidu mentioned that the cost efficiency of power consumption for data centers is significant, and Andhra Pradesh is poised to become a global hub for data centers. Naidu said regarding Google's plan: "Investing 15 billion US dollars in the first five years is a win-win situation." He also added that Andhra Pradesh has promised to assist companies like Reliance Industries in building data centers with a total capacity of 5.5 gigawatts, which will be in sync with plans to increase green energy production. Naidu said: "The cost efficiency of data flow is higher compared to power consumption. This is the key to changing the situation. Everyone is now coming to Andhra Pradesh." Google announced last month that they will build a data center connected to new energy sources and fiber optic networks in Visakhapatnam city. Indian billionaire Gautam Adani stated that his company, AdaniConneX, will collaborate with Google and India's second largest wireless operator, Bharti Airtel, on this project.
