After the record-breaking government shutdown in the United States, copper prices stabilized after four consecutive days of increase.
President Trump has signed a bill to reopen the government, but it may take several weeks for economic data to recover. The price of copper on the London Metal Exchange has risen slightly by 0.1% to $10,956 per ton. Earlier, due to supply disruptions and trade-related price distortions, copper prices have surged by about 25% so far this year. Most other base metals are trading lower.
