The British government has appointed Green to serve on the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England again.
The UK Treasury announced on Thursday that they have reappointed Bank of England policymaker Green to the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee for a term of three years. Chancellor Rishi Sunak said, "Her reappointment provides welcome stability at a critical time, and I fully support the Bank of England in reducing inflation. I believe Green's skills and background in financial markets will continue to be a valuable asset to the Monetary Policy Committee." Due to concerns about high inflation, Green voted against the Bank of England's recent rate cut in August, and on Tuesday expressed concerns about the scale of business plans to raise wages by 2026.
