Today, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development that in order to comprehensively understand urban and rural historical and cultural resources, and clarify the bottom line of protection in urban renewal, various regions are accelerating special investigations in old urban areas and old street districts. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development requires that all areas complete the review of city-level achievements by February next year. This survey takes city districts and county areas as the basic units, focusing on the old urban areas and old town areas where the ancient capital cities, prefectural cities, county cities were located historically. It covers traditional old urban areas built before 1911, representing the modern history from 1911 to 1949, areas representing the achievements of New China's construction from 1949 to 1978, and areas reflecting the achievements of reform and opening up since 1978, including old streets, old factory areas, and old school areas that evoke public emotional memories. According to the plan, by February next year, the special investigation should complete the review of achievements by city-level authorities. By June next year, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will summarize and analyze the results of the national special investigation and compile a summary report.
