Ford CEO Jim Farley revealed in a podcast interview on Wednesday that Ford has 5,000 vacant skilled trade positions, despite offering annual salaries up to $120,000, nearly double the median wage for American workers, but still can't find people to fill them. Farley added, "It's not just a Ford problem, it's a country problem. We're not talking enough about it. We have over 1 million critical job openings, including emergency services, trucking, factory workers, plumbers, electricians, and craftsmen. This is a very serious issue."
