The Baltic Dry Index of dry bulk shipping prices fell slightly, due to weak freight rates for cape-size vessels.

The Baltic Dry Index saw a slight decrease, pushed down by the drop in cape-size vessel freight rates. The Baltic Dry Index dropped by 12 points, or 0.6%, to 2072 points compared to the previous trading day. The cape-size vessel freight index fell by 71 points or 2.2% to 3192 points. The cape-size vessel daily earnings decreased by $594 to $26,469. The panamax vessel freight index rose by 20 points or 1.1% to 1865 points, reaching its highest level since October 29th. The panamax vessel daily earnings increased by $184 to $16,785. The supramax dry bulk carrier index rose by 17 points to 1344 points.
