Ginger prices have surged nearly 50%.
Ginger is one of the main seasonings on the common people's table, it is also an agricultural product with significant price fluctuations in recent years. Recently, the new harvest of ginger in the main producing areas is coming to an end and will be gradually coming to the market. In the main ginger producing area of Changyi City, Weifang, Shandong Province, ginger farmer Wang Yumei is directing workers to harvest. She told reporters that in October, there was continuous rainfall in the area, causing the field to be muddy and flooded, and the harvest mainly relies on manual labor, with the cost reaching 5000 yuan per mu, an increase of more than 40% compared to last year. Multiple factors have collectively pushed up the price of ginger in recent times. Data shows that on October 31, the average price of ginger in the main producing areas nationwide was 3.08 yuan/jin, an increase of 47.37% compared to September 30, and this upward trend continued in the first week of November.
