The collapse of the Red Flag Bridge in the city of Barkam, Sichuan Province was caused by the intensified deformation of the mountainside, resulting in a landslide.

On the evening of November 11th, the reporter learned from the Traffic and Transportation Bureau and Public Security Bureau of Markang City, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province that on November 10th around 15:00, the mountain on the right bank of the Red Flag Bridge in Markang City on National Highway 317 deformed. The relevant departments immediately implemented temporary traffic control measures and issued a "Traffic Control Notice". Around 16:00 on November 11th, due to further deformation and collapse of the mountain, the roadbed and approach bridge collapsed. There were no casualties during the entire process, and vehicles entering and leaving were detoured according to the "Traffic Control Notice" to continue their journey.
