On November 11th, the Ministry of Commerce held a seminar to study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Wang Wentao, member of the Central Propaganda Team and Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a lecture on the spirit of the plenary session. During the lecture, Wang Wentao deeply explained the significant importance of the plenary session, accurately grasped the important position of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period in the process of basic realization of socialist modernization, deeply understood the guiding principles and main goals of economic and social development during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, comprehensively understood the strategic tasks and major measures of economic and social development during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, and emphasized the need to uphold and strengthen the overall leadership of the Party, and consolidate the tremendous strength to promote Chinese-style modernization. Combining with the actual work of commerce, he made a comprehensive explanation and interpretation. The meeting emphasized that learning and implementing the spirit of the plenary session well is a major political task for the entire party and the country at present and in the future. It is necessary to integrate the learning and implementation of the spirit of the plenary session with the understanding and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and to consciously use the scientific theories of the Party to guide practice and promote work. The meeting pointed out the need to base on the "Three Major Roles" positioning of commerce work, and to introduce more detailed measures in the aspects of vigorously boosting consumption, steadily expanding institutional opening up, actively expanding independent opening up, promoting trade innovation and development, expanding bilateral investment cooperation space, and jointly building the "Belt and Road" initiative at high quality.
