The South-South Cooperation High-Level Forum on Climate Change Response is held.
On November 10th, local time in Brazil, the South-South Cooperation High-Level Forum on Climate Change was held in the Chinese Pavilion at the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The forum aims to consolidate the consensus of global southern countries in addressing climate change, deepen South-South cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, work together to promote green, low-carbon modernization, and seek a new path for sustainable development. Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology and Environment of China, stated in his speech that China has always been committed to promoting South-South cooperation in addressing climate change, working hand in hand with other developing countries to address climate challenges and share the achievements of green development. So far, China has signed 55 climate change South-South cooperation agreements with 43 developing countries. Guests at the event discussed jointly building a green future, how South-South cooperation can support global climate governance, and how South-South cooperation can lead sustainable transformation towards green and low-carbon development. They also officially launched the implementation of the flagship project "Clean Stove" during the event. Katie Vanderhyden, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, praised China's leadership role in ensuring that all global southern countries can benefit from China's long-term experience and expertise, and through South-South cooperation, these experiences are shared with other regions of the world to protect children from the impacts of climate change.
