Tesla is preparing to expand its Texas Gigafactory once again, building a new dedicated facility for the mass production of its humanoid robot, Optimus. Currently, Tesla has a pilot production line set up in its factory in Fremont, Northern California, where they are assembling some Optimus prototypes. However, the company plans to focus the majority of Optimus production capacity at the Texas Gigafactory. It is reported that the Fremont factory has an annual production capacity of 1 million units. Musk has stated that the company aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 10 million units in the new dedicated building at the Texas Gigafactory. The production schedule for Optimus at the Texas Gigafactory is set to begin in 2027.
