China Mobile: Major upgrade for Beidou satellite SMS service, "Text + Image + Voice" is now available.

Recently, China Mobile officially announced a major upgrade to the Beidou short message service, adding functionalities for rich media messages such as pictures and voice on top of the existing text communication. The upgrade also includes an increase in the text transmission capability to 40 Chinese characters for uplink and 10 Chinese characters for downlink, ushering Beidou communication into a new stage of "visible and audible" communication.
