Shanghai cracks down on illegal modification of electric bicycles, with over 31,000 cases investigated and dealt with this year.

On November 10th, it was learned from the Shanghai Public Security Bureau that this year, the Shanghai public security organs have been actively promoting the "2025 Sword" series of actions, continuously carrying out targeted special rectification actions against illegal modification of electric bicycles, with a total of more than 31,000 illegal acts discovered. Recently, the Shanghai police carried out a concentrated rectification operation targeting illegal activities of obtaining electric bicycle license plates by unlawfully changing batteries, and apprehended 10 suspects.
