The Robin Hood plan is opening channels for investors to participate in a private artificial intelligence fund.
Vlad Tenev, CEO of Robinhood, stated in an interview with the Financial Times that the company plans to allow amateur investors to invest in privately owned artificial intelligence companies that have seen significant valuation increases. The company plans to issue tradable stocks through a new fund managed by its subsidiary Robinhood Ventures. This fund will invest in a highly concentrated portfolio of five or more privately owned companies, and may borrow funds to increase returns. The fund will be a closed-end fund. Tenev expressed that he is more interested in giving "ordinary people" the opportunity to invest in private artificial intelligence companies, rather than worrying about whether the industry is forming a bubble.
