On November 7th, the "2025 3rd Shanghai International Mineral Industry Exchange Conference" was held with the theme of "connecting minerals inside and outside, and linking trade globally". It brought together domestic and foreign political and corporate leaders, industry experts, and financial institutions to connect high-quality mineral resources at home and abroad, and deepen cooperation in mineral investment and trade. In recent years, Shanghai has placed high importance on the construction of an international trade center and has proposed tasks such as accelerating the construction of commodity trading centers and commodity hub centers to promote the transformation and upgrading of commodity trade. As the "old core area" of commodity trade in Shanghai, Putuo District has developed over more than thirty years and has formed a gathering pattern for non-ferrous metal spot trading. From non-ferrous metal trading to logistics, futures, banks, and other related enterprises, they have all gathered here. Currently, the Zhongshan North Road Materials Trade Building, the core carrier, has gathered more than 400 non-ferrous metal trading companies, forming a complete ecosystem covering resource docking, trade circulation, and supply chain services. In the future, Putuo District will rely on its industrial agglomeration advantages to actively build an influential commodity trading industry highland, continuously explore new paths and paradigms of integrating technology innovation with trade, and empower the entire process of commodity circulation with digital technology to achieve dual breakthroughs in efficiency improvement and risk control. Further establishing a prominent commodity trading industry highland that is both well-known and influential, injecting a continuous stream of new energy into the regional economic development.
