The 2025 Internet Blue Book released today: China leads the world in 6G patent applications.

On November 8, the "China Internet Development Report 2025" and "World Internet Development Report 2025" blue books compiled by the China Internet Space Research Institute were officially released at the 2025 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen Summit. Since 2017, the blue books have been released globally for nine consecutive years, representing an important theoretical and practical research achievement of the World Internet Conference and showcasing the new progress and achievements in Internet development, attracting widespread attention at home and abroad. The report shows that as of June 2025, the total number of fixed broadband access users in China has reached 684 million households, with 4.55 million 5G base stations built and 1.118 billion 5G mobile phone users. China has become the world's largest holder of artificial intelligence patents, accounting for 60%; its 6G patent applications account for approximately 40.3% globally, ranking first in the world; and China has been the world's largest online retail market for 12 consecutive years.
