The 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum Agricultural Sub-Forum was held in Shanghai.
On November 5th, the Eighth Hongqiao International Economic Forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce, was held in Shanghai. Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Zhang Zhili, attended and delivered a speech. Zhang Zhili pointed out that current agricultural international trade is sailing in a sea of uncertainty, with protectionist "headwinds" disrupting the order of agricultural international trade, geo-political "cold fronts" hindering smooth agricultural international trade, extreme weather "shocks" impacting the foundation of agricultural international trade, and multiple market "speculations" affecting the expectations of agricultural international trade. Zhang Zhili stated that the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is willing to work together with other countries to take pragmatic actions, steadfastly promote high-quality development of agricultural international trade, strengthen policy coordination, collectively uphold the authority of the multilateral trading system; enhance innovation-driven initiatives, jointly cultivate new momentum for the development of agricultural international trade; strengthen division of labor cooperation, collectively enhance the resilience of the agricultural international trade system; strengthen information sharing, jointly guide the expectations for the development of agricultural international trade.
