Finance app Zhtng learned that Philip Jefferson, Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve, said that considering that interest rates have dropped closer to a neutral level (i.e. neither restricting nor stimulating the economy), the Federal Reserve should be more cautious in future policy actions. Jefferson pointed out that current interest rates still have "slightly restrictive" effects on the economy, but added: "As we approach neutral interest rates, it is wise to slow down our actions."
