On November 6, local time, Mexican prosecutors charged a 17-year-old boy with the recent shooting death of Carlos Manso, the mayor of Uruapan, Michoacan state, and the murder may be related to a criminal group. Manso was shot dead on November 1 while attending the traditional Mexican holiday of Day of the Dead. The Michoacan State Prosecutor's Office said that evidence provided by forensic experts indicated that Victor Manuel Uvaldo, who was shot dead by security personnel at the event, was the gunman, and there may be other people involved, possibly linked to organized crime groups.
