Major Country Engineering New Progress: The Upstream Reservoir of Nanning Pumped Storage Power Station in Guangxi Officially Starts Reservoir Filling.

On November 7th, the upper reservoir of the Guangxi Nanning Pumped Storage Power Station, a key project under the "14th Five-Year Plan", officially started to store water, marking the start of the comprehensive water storage phase of the project. This project is the first in the country to use a new water storage method combining "high flow pumping" and "low flow pressure stabilization", which can achieve efficiency more than 20 times that of natural rainfall water storage while ensuring the safety and stability of the dam. As the first pumping and storage project in the southern region under the "14th Five-Year Plan", the Nanning Pumped Storage Power Station has a installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts and is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of the year, capable of consuming up to 25 billion kilowatt hours of clean energy per year. The start of this water storage test comprehensively assessed the overall performance of the upper and lower reservoirs of the power station as well as its water transfer and power generation systems, creating favorable conditions for accelerating the completion of the power station.
