"Greater Bay Area Cross-border Direct Ambulance Pilot Plan" expands to Zhuhai and Nansha on Sunday.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced that the "Greater Bay Area Cross-border Ambulance Trial Plan" will be expanded to designated hospitals in Zhuhai and Nansha starting from November 9th, marking a new phase of the trial plan.
In the Chief Executive's Policy Address delivered in September this year, it was proposed to expand the cross-border ambulance patient transfer arrangement with the Guangdong and Macau governments in an orderly manner, including incorporating designated hospitals in Zhuhai and Nansha and implementing two-way transfers.
To ensure the smooth implementation of these arrangements, the Hong Kong SAR Government conducted drills in September and October with the Zhuhai Municipal Government and the Nansha District People's Government of Guangzhou City, testing the cross-border ambulance arrangements in simulated patient transfers, with the process generally running smoothly.
The trial plan will be expanded to Zhuhai People's Hospital and Zhongshan University Affiliated First Hospital Nansha Branch starting from November 9th.
