Guangzhou Maritime Bureau reported on November 7th that on the evening of October 25th, a bulk carrier sailing from Guangzhou to Shanghai sank in the waters near the Mayou Stone Beacon in the Lingding Channel due to a collision. After the accident, the Guangzhou Maritime Bureau, in conjunction with the port authorities and relevant port enterprises, immediately started vessel traffic evacuation work, prioritizing the dispatch of vessels that meet the conditions for safe navigation in and out of the port. After completing the water depth measurement and navigation mark adjustment, a temporary navigation channel was officially put into use at 8:00 am on October 27th, with single-direction navigation measures implemented in different time periods to quickly resume vessel traffic in and out of the port and port operations. On November 6th, in light of the dredging, surveying, and navigation mark adjustment of the temporary Lingding Channel, the Guangzhou Maritime Bureau further optimized traffic organization measures and lifted the time restrictions starting from 6:00 am on November 6th, adjusting the Lingding temporary navigation channel to allow for all-weather single-direction navigation. Vessels with a draft of less than 15 meters can navigate normally, while vessels with a draft of more than 15 meters can pass with the tide. Please follow the traffic organization arrangements by the Guangzhou Traffic Management Center and on-site patrol ships, and pass through in an orderly manner.
