The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ordered airlines to reduce domestic flights at 40 high-traffic airports by 4% starting at 6 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday, citing safety concerns during the government shutdown. The FAA stated in the final order that the 40 high-traffic airports are required to reduce flights by 4% by next Monday, and then by 10% starting from November 14th. The FAA will also implement restrictions on space launches, but there will be no cuts to international flights.
