On October 12th, Cameroon held presidential elections with 12 candidates, including Biya, participating. According to the official tally, Biya won with 54% of the votes, securing his re-election. Biya, 92 years old, has been in office since 1982. The Cameroonian presidential elections are conducted through direct popular vote, with the candidate receiving the most votes declared the winner. The president serves a term of 7 years and can be re-elected indefinitely.
