Today, the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, Chen Jining, and the Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Gong Zheng met with the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam. Xu Qifang, the Deputy Director in charge of daily work at the Central Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office and the State Council Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, also attended the meeting. Chen Jining said that Shanghai and Hong Kong have complementary advantages and vast cooperation space. He hopes to further utilize the Shanghai-Hong Kong cooperation conference mechanism, seize new opportunities, strengthen communication and coordination, and enhance cooperation in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, financial development, trade and investment, and service to help companies go abroad.
