IATA: Global air passenger demand increased by 3.6% year-on-year in September.

According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, on November 6th, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) released the global air passenger market data for September 2025. In September 2025, total air passenger demand (measured by RPK revenue passenger kilometers) increased by 3.6% compared to September 2024. Total capacity (measured by ASK available seat kilometers) increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year. The passenger load factor in September was 83.4%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the same month in 2024. International demand increased by 5.1% compared to September 2024, with capacity growing by 5.2% and a passenger load factor of 83.6%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous year. Domestic demand increased by 0.9% compared to September 2024, with capacity growing by 1.1%. The passenger load factor was 83.0%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the same month in 2024.
