The world's first intelligent multimodal large model for deep sea habitats has been released.

On November 6th, at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Xiamen International Ocean Week, the Ministry of Natural Resources unveiled the world's first multimodal large model for deep-sea typical habitats - the "Deep Sea Habitat Intelligent Cognition and Exploration Multimodal Large Model". Guided by the China Ocean Administration, the "Deep Sea Habitat Intelligent Cognition and Exploration Multimodal Large Model" was jointly developed by multiple scientific research institutions and is an important achievement of the United Nations' "Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development" digital deep-sea typical habitat grand scientific plan. This model has functions such as intelligent perception of deep-sea habitats, comprehensive intelligent deduction of deep-sea habitats, generation of governance decision-making solutions, and immersive cognitive navigation, and has completed the construction of an intelligent cognition system for a deep-sea seamount and a hydrothermal area.
