On November 4th local time, the Singapore parliament officially passed a special anti-scam law, clearly incorporating caning into the punishment system for telecom fraud related crimes, in response to the escalating trend of telecom fraud crimes. The law stipulates that main perpetrators, members of fraud groups, recruiters, and all types of accomplices may face caning punishment, with a minimum of 6 strokes and a maximum of 24 strokes.
