"Hong Kong: the preferred platform for Mainland companies to go global" promotion conference was held in Shanghai today. Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attended the event and stated that in the process of Mainland companies going global, they need a large amount of capital and professional services support, as well as an international business platform to align their products and technologies with international standards and effectively connect with overseas market demands. Under the principle of "one country, two systems", Hong Kong has the advantage of being open to the outside world and is an international financial, shipping, and trade center. It also has world-class professional services, along with a highly internationalized and market-oriented business environment, attracting global capital and talent. Hong Kong is also the freest economy in the world, continually expanding its economic and trade networks, consolidating relations with traditional economic entities, and also focusing on expanding into emerging markets to provide momentum for companies going global. Carrie Lam pointed out that looking towards the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the country will continue to expand high-level opening to the outside world and broaden the space for bilateral investment cooperation. Hong Kong will continue to proactively align with national strategies, work hand in hand with the Mainland to create a new situation of cooperation and create a win-win situation; at the same time, it will strengthen its role as a "super connector" and "super value-added person", becoming the best platform and partner for Mainland companies to go global.
