The 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum held a sub-forum on "Protecting Intellectual Property Rights and Combating Infringement and Counterfeiting through International Cooperation".
On November 6th, the sub-forum "Protecting Intellectual Property Rights and Combating Counterfeiting and Infringement International Cooperation" of the 8th China International Import Expo was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center. The forum focused on protecting intellectual property and combating counterfeiting and infringement, with Vice Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation Shu giving the keynote speech. Deputy Secretary-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Wang Binying, Chairman of the Global Services Trade Alliance Jiang Zengwei, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government Zhang Ying also delivered speeches at the event. Representatives from INTERPOL, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, and the Italian Embassy in China exchanged views on deepening international exchange and cooperation; the Central Propaganda Department, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, officials from the State Intellectual Property Office, and the Mayor of Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province shared experiences and practices on strengthening intellectual property protection; industry associations and representatives from Chinese and foreign companies engaged in dialogue on promoting social governance. The Global Services Trade Alliance released the "World's Major Cities Digital Economy Innovation and Intellectual Property Development Index Report 2025". In recent years, China has attached great importance to protecting intellectual property and combating counterfeiting and infringement, vigorously promoting the construction of a quality and intellectual property strong nation, continuously strengthening institutional guarantees, increasing the strength of administrative enforcement and judicial protection, deepening international exchange and cooperation, and making every effort to create a market-oriented, rule of law, and international business environment. Relevant departments have focused on key areas of counterfeiting and infringement, strengthened source protection and whole-chain governance, effectively safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign rights holders and consumers. The "2025 Global Innovation Index Report" released by the World Intellectual Property Organization shows that China has risen to 10th place, entering the top ten of the global innovation index for the first time.
