Shenzhen issues new regulations for "non-residential to rental housing conversion": Vacant office buildings and other non-residential properties can be converted into rental housing.
Recently, the Shenzhen Housing and Construction Bureau, together with the City Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, issued the revised "Notice on the Conversion of Existing Non-Residential Buildings into Affordable Rental Housing". The Notice specifies that support will be given to the conversion of vacant or underutilized commercial, office, hotel, factory, research and development facilities, storage, scientific research and education facilities, and other non-residential existing buildings into affordable rental housing.
