According to the Wise Finance APP, the US service sector returned to expansion territory in October. Data released by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) on Wednesday showed that the service sector PMI recorded 52.4% in October, higher than the 50% in September, and has been above the boom-bust line for the eighth consecutive month, indicating a slight improvement in service sector economic activity. Steve Miller, chairman of the ISM Services Survey Committee, stated that this month's data suggests that the economy is still expanding moderately, although the trend remains below the average level of the past few years.
